Assisting with Research Projects
As an intern, the main responsibilities will include assisting with departmental research projects. This will involve collecting specimens, conducting bird surveys, and bird ringing. The intern will also be responsible for the digitization of heritage specimens and databasing, ensuring that valuable specimens are preserved for future generations.
Research and Writing
In addition to assisting with research projects, the intern will have the opportunity to research and write popular scientific posts and articles. Collections Management and Curation

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this internship should possess a Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in genetics and/or zoology and entomology. They should have a demonstrated interest in ornithological research and be knowledgeable about database systems and collections management. Strong research and writing skills are required, as well as computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access. Good planning and organizational skills are also essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain good interpersonal relations.
